Garden Shed Gable 1.5 x 1.5 Single Sliding Side Door

This is a 1.5 x 1.5 metre, double hinged door, front gable small garden shed with a single sliding side door. The 1.5 metre front of this shed has double hinged doors, that fully open to 1420mm. This is ample room for larger garden equipment, motorcycles, mobility scooters and recreational equipment. The double doorway has a heavy-duty bottom channel protector ramp to make wheeling equipment in and out the front doors easy.

The other 1.5 metre wall has a single sliding door. This can go in either the left or the right of the shed. This maximises internal storage space, while giving good access. As this shed has a sliding door you don’t need the swing space required for hinged doors. This saves space for paths or when you are close to a fence.

Because this is a square garden shed the roof can be installed either as a front gable or a side gable. You simply make this decision at the time you build. The doors can be positioned in adjacent walls, great for corner positions or they can be put in opposite walls to create a walk-through design. Walk through sheds are handy when you need access from both the front and the back yards.

Most garden sheds have either 1700mm or 1800mm walls and the gable roof peak at just on 2 metres. This is just a bit low for the average Australian. Our wall height is 1900mm and we put a steeper pitch on our gable to give you a full 2.3 metre gable peak. This little bit extra height makes a real difference. A shed like this can add value to your home.

Garden shed floor plan

The 1.5 metre end of this shed opens right up with double doors to give a 1420mm opening. This is ideal for ride on mowers, mobility scooters or even motorcycles. We include a heavy-duty bottom channel protector ramp so getting large, heavy equipment in and out of this shed is easy and you don’t damage the bottom channel.

Light Industrial Door Tracks

We use light industrial tracks on all our sliding door sheds. Each door has 16 rollers, 8 top and 8 bottom, that roll in a “C” section channel. This sliding door system is superior to the plastic glide or single wheel systems that are commonly used in garden sheds.

Inferior single wheel bracket

Inferior – single wheel bracket 2 per door bottom mounted only.

Inferior plastic glide

Inferior – single plastic peg glide 2 per door top mounted only.

Superior 4-wheel bogie

Superior – 4 wheel bogie - 2 top + 2 bottom - 16 wheels per door.

About our steel

We use hot dipped galvanized steel in our garden sheds that is tested to an International Standard ASTM-A653, it is either standard galvanized or galvanized then coated with a polyester color coating.

The coated steel is tested to a further International Standard ASTM-A755M. Every batch of steel we buy is independently tested to ensure it meets these standards.

Over the years we have learned that 0.32 thick steel provides the best performance/value ratio for garden sheds. So, this is the steel we use for our full range of sheds.

We are happy to offer a 30-year warranty on our garden sheds, as we know we use quality steel. If you want to read more about International Standard ASTM-A653 click here.

A lot of people ask do you use Colorbond© Steel? Colorbond is a trademark of Bluescope Steel for their coated steel. We do not use Colorbond steel in our sheds.

However, our Midland Green color is equivalent to a Colorbond color called Pale Eucalypt© Sandrift Cream is equivalent to a Colorbond color called Paperbark© and our Onyx Grey is equivalent to a Colorbond color called Monument© These are probably the most common steel colors used architecturally today.
